Visitors to this year’s Education Show helped Pilot raise a record sum of money for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thanks to the hundreds of teachers who visited our stand and made a donation to the charity, in exchange for a Pilot product sample, we raised an impressive £1740 at this year’s show.
John Cotterell, Pilot’s National Accounts Manager (Education): "This is the second year that we have raised money for Macmillan and it’s a fantastic sum of money that will really make a difference and we are very grateful to everyone that took part in our fund raising efforts.
“We had a lot of positive comments from visitors who thought it was a fantastic way to raise money and many teachers simply made a donation.”
In addition to raising money for the charity, Pilot helped to distribute Macmillan's free Cancertalk teaching packs. The packs contain facts about cancer, activity sheets, DVD and teachers notes to guide and support teachers in discussing cancer with children aged 7-16 in lessons as part of Macmillan's Cancertalk week held in January each year.
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support and campaigning for better cancer care. |
